The hexagonal form is architectural without being aggressive. The shelf is intentional. The light is secondary to the object itself.
The body is 304-grade stainless steel, powder-coated matte black. It does not rust. It does not fade. The frosted polycarbonate diffuser softens the integrated LED into an even, warm wash of light that falls across the wall and the ground below. The shelf holds a small pot plant, a stone, a piece of driftwood — whatever belongs in your garden. Or nothing at all. It works either way.
IP65 rated and built for AC 85–265V, the Heks works in every climate and on every electrical system. It mounts directly to the wall with a standard back plate. No special tools. No specialist knowledge beyond a basic electrical connection.

- Wipe the stainless steel body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive pads or steel wool — these will scratch the powder coat finish.
- Clean the frosted polycarbonate diffuser with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use solvents, bleach, or chemical cleaners — these will cloud the diffuser over time.
- Do not use a pressure washer directly on the lamp. IP65 protects against water jets, but sustained high-pressure water can force moisture into the junction box.
- In coastal environments, wipe the body down with a dry cloth monthly to remove salt residue. This extends the life of the powder coat finish.
- If using the shelf for a potted plant, ensure the pot has a drainage tray to prevent water pooling on the shelf surface.
- Disconnect from power at the circuit breaker before any cleaning or maintenance.

A: The shelf is structural — it is part of the stainless steel frame, not an add-on. It will hold a small potted plant (a succulent, a trailing herb, a small fern) without issue. Use a pot with a drainage tray to prevent water sitting on the shelf surface. - Q: Will the stainless steel corrode near the coast?
A: The body is 304-grade stainless steel with a matte black powder coat finish. 304-grade is the standard marine-grade alloy used in coastal architecture. It will not rust under normal coastal conditions. Wipe down monthly with a dry cloth to remove salt residue and the finish will remain intact for years. - Q: Does this need a licensed electrician to install?
A: The Heks connects to a standard outdoor wall junction box via a live, neutral, and earth wire — the same connection as any hardwired outdoor wall light. In the UK and Australia, hardwired electrical work must be carried out by a qualified electrician. In the US, homeowners can typically complete this work themselves under permit. The physical mounting is straightforward — the electrical connection is the only specialist step. - Q: When the LED eventually fails, can it be replaced?
A: The LED is integrated into the fitting and is not user-replaceable. However, the integrated LED is rated for 50,000 hours of use — at 6 hours per night, that is approximately 22 years before the LED reaches end of life. In practice, the lamp will outlast the LED by a significant margin.

How do I know what size to choose?
Every product page lists exact dimensions for each option. For wall art, your piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space above your furniture — measure the width and multiply by 0.6 to 0.75. Hang it with the centre at eye level, around 150cm from the floor.
For lighting, a simple rule used by top designers: add your room's length and width in metres, multiply by 2.5, and that gives you the ideal fixture width in centimetres.
Pendants over a dining table should hang 75-90cm above the table surface.
