A hand-painted abstract in deep blue, warm gold and soft grey, it holds the particular stillness of leaves caught in light — the gold not decorative but structural, built up by hand until it has weight. Blad: the Norwegian word for leaf. You can feel the season in it.
Each piece is painted individually in acrylic oil on canvas — not printed, not reproduced. The artist works in layers, building the surface until the blue has depth and the gold catches the light the way only paint applied by hand can. The result is a canvas that reads differently in the morning than it does in the evening. A living thing on your wall.
Available in seven sizes — from 40×80cm to 100×200cm — Blad scales from a considered accent piece to a full statement wall. The larger sizes in particular (80×160cm, 90×180cm, 100×200cm) are the kind of paintings that define a room rather than decorate it. Gallery-wrapped and ready to hang, no frame required.

- Dust lightly with a soft, dry cloth — do not use water, solvents, or abrasive materials directly on the painted surface.
- Hang away from direct sunlight and high-humidity areas (bathrooms, above radiators) to preserve colour and prevent canvas movement.
- If minor warping occurs, lightly mist the back of the canvas with water and allow to dry flat — this usually corrects the tension.
- Do not lean or store the canvas face-down against hard surfaces.

- Q: Is this a print or an original hand-painted piece? A: It is a 100% original hand-painted acrylic oil painting — not a print, not a giclee, not a digital reproduction. Each piece is painted individually by hand, which means no two are identical. You are receiving an original work, not a copy.
- Q: My painting looks slightly different from the product photo — is that normal? A: Yes, completely normal. Because each piece is painted by hand, the exact distribution of gold, the depth of the blue, and the placement of each stroke will vary naturally between pieces. The overall composition, palette and character will be consistent — but your piece is genuinely unique.
- Q: Does it arrive with a smell from the paint? A: A faint paint or solvent smell is normal for hand-painted acrylic and oil works and will dissipate within a few days of unpacking. Unbox in a ventilated room and allow the piece to air for 24–48 hours before hanging.
- Q: For the larger sizes (80×160cm and above), do I need special fixings? A: For the 80×160cm, 90×180cm and 100×200cm sizes, we recommend using two wall anchors or picture hooks rated for at least 5kg, spaced evenly across the top of the canvas. A spirit level ensures the hang is straight. Standard picture wire or D-ring fixings (included) are sufficient for all sizes up to 70×140cm.

How do I know what size to choose?
Every product page lists exact dimensions for each option. For wall art, your piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space above your furniture — measure the width and multiply by 0.6 to 0.75. Hang it with the centre at eye level, around 150cm from the floor.
For lighting, a simple rule used by top designers: add your room's length and width in metres, multiply by 2.5, and that gives you the ideal fixture width in centimetres.
Pendants over a dining table should hang 75-90cm above the table surface.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?
We do our best to ensure accurate colour representation, but slight variations can occur due to screen settings and lighting conditions. Our products are produced to match the listing images as closely as possible.
