There is a particular kind of house that earns its character slowly. The AURO Skive belongs to that house. Mounted at the entrance, above the garage, or along a garden wall, its wide disc shade casts a warm, downward pool of light — the kind that makes a return home feel like an arrival.
The Skive is built from powder-coated iron with a curved arm that holds the shade at a considered angle. The acrylic diffuser softens the light without losing its warmth. It takes a standard E27 bulb — meaning you choose the colour temperature, the wattage, the character. The fitting is the frame. The bulb is your decision.
Rated IP65, it is fully sealed against rain and dust. The universal voltage input (AC 85–265V) means it works in the UK, US, and Australia without modification. Installation is straightforward — a standard back plate, standard wiring, no specialist tools required.

A: No — the AURO Skive uses a standard E27 socket and is supplied without a bulb. This allows you to choose your preferred bulb type, wattage, and colour temperature. We recommend a 7–10W warm white LED (2700K) for the best result. - Q: What is the maximum bulb wattage this fitting can take?
A: The E27 socket supports up to 40W incandescent equivalent. For LED bulbs, any standard E27 LED up to 15W is suitable. Do not exceed 40W equivalent to avoid heat build-up in the shade. - Q: Can this be installed on a rendered or brick wall without a back box?
A: Yes — the Skive mounts directly to the wall surface via its back plate. No recessed back box is required. The wiring enters through the wall behind the plate. Standard installation by a qualified electrician is recommended. - Q: Is it suitable for a fully exposed position, or does it need a covered location?
A: The IP65 rating means the Skive is fully sealed against rain and dust jets — it is suitable for fully exposed outdoor positions including open walls, gate posts, and unsheltered entrances. It does not require a covered or recessed location.

How do I know what size to choose?
Every product page lists exact dimensions for each option. For wall art, your piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space above your furniture — measure the width and multiply by 0.6 to 0.75. Hang it with the centre at eye level, around 150cm from the floor.
For lighting, a simple rule used by top designers: add your room's length and width in metres, multiply by 2.5, and that gives you the ideal fixture width in centimetres.
Pendants over a dining table should hang 75-90cm above the table surface.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?
We do our best to ensure accurate colour representation, but slight variations can occur due to screen settings and lighting conditions. Our products are produced to match the listing images as closely as possible.
