• Dust lightly with a soft, dry cloth or a clean feather duster. Do not use wet cloths, sprays, or cleaning solutions directly on the painted surface.
• Avoid hanging in rooms with sustained high humidity or steam — kitchens and bathrooms are not recommended. Oil paint on canvas is sensitive to prolonged moisture exposure.
• Avoid direct, prolonged sunlight. UV exposure over time can cause gradual fading of the oil paint surface.
• Do not lean objects against the canvas or apply pressure to the painted surface — the fine raised linework can be damaged by direct contact.
• If the canvas arrives with a faint oil paint smell, air it in a well-ventilated room for 24–48 hours. This is completely normal for freshly made oil paintings and will dissipate fully.

• Q: Is this a print or a genuine hand-painted original? A: It is a genuine hand-painted original. Every piece is painted entirely by hand using oil paint on 450gsm cotton-linen canvas. There are no prints, no digital reproductions, and no mechanical processes involved. Because of this, no two pieces are identical — subtle variations in linework and tone are a natural result of the handmade process and are not defects.
• Q: It arrived with a paint smell — is that normal? A: Yes, completely normal. Freshly made oil paintings can arrive with a faint paint smell. The paint is dry to the touch on arrival, but oil paint continues to cure over several weeks. Air the painting in a well-ventilated room for 24–48 hours and the smell will dissipate fully. The surface is safe to handle and hang immediately.
• Q: Do I need a frame, or does it hang as-is? A: It hangs as-is — no frame required. The canvas is stretched on a solid timber frame to a 6cm depth, and all four edges are fully painted. Simply attach a picture hook to the wall and hang. The painting is gallery-ready straight out of the box.
• Q: Will the colours match what I see on screen? A: The palette is near-monochrome — cream, off-white, and pale grey — so there is very little colour variation to account for. Screen calibration can affect how warm or cool the tones appear, but the painting reads as neutral in all lighting conditions and works across white, off-white, warm grey, and natural wood tone interiors.
• Q: Can it go in a bathroom or kitchen? A: We recommend against it. Oil paint on canvas is sensitive to sustained humidity and steam. The painting is best suited to living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways, and offices — rooms with stable temperature and humidity levels.
