A fixed light knows one angle. The AURO Sköld knows every angle. Its slender iron arm swings out from the wall, pivots, and holds — wherever you need it. Reading in bed at eleven. A pool of light on the wall behind the sofa. A directed glow over a painting you want the room to notice. The Sköld moves with you. The room changes accordingly.
The form is minimal in the way that considered things always are. A trumpet-shaped shade — open at the front, closed at the back — sits at the end of the arm and directs the G9 light forward and downward. The arm itself is slender iron, finished in matte black or brushed gold, extending from a clean circular backplate. Nothing is decorative that isn't also structural. The shade is the shade. The arm is the arm. Together they are exactly what a wall sconce should be.
The G9 socket accepts any bulb you choose — a 4W warm filament LED for amber evenings, a cooler daylight bulb for task work, a dimmable LED if you want to dial the mood from the switch. The arm swings through a full arc and holds its position without drift. Once set, it stays.

- Q: Does the swing arm stay in position, or does it drift and drop over time? A: The arm uses a friction-lock pivot joint — it holds its position once set and does not drift under the weight of the shade. If resistance loosens over time (common with frequent repositioning), the joint can be tightened with a small screwdriver at the pivot point.
- Q: Is this compatible with a dimmer switch? A: The Sköld uses switch control only and is not compatible with standard dimmer switches. The built-in driver does not support dimming. For a dimmable experience, use a dimmable G9 LED bulb with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer switch — the G9 socket itself is compatible, but the listed 10W driver is not. We recommend wiring to a standard on/off switch.
- Q: How far does the arm extend from the wall? A: The arm extends approximately 40cm from the backplate at full extension, based on the packing dimension of 42cm. This gives enough reach to position the shade over a bedside table, beside a reading chair, or away from the wall for accent lighting.
- Q: Do I need an electrician to install this? A: The Sköld is a hardwired fixture. If you are replacing an existing wall sconce at a wired wall point, most confident DIYers can complete the swap — it is a standard live, neutral, and earth connection. If you are creating a new wall point from scratch, a qualified electrician is required. All mounting hardware is included.

How do I know what size to choose?
Every product page lists exact dimensions for each option. For wall art, your piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space above your furniture — measure the width and multiply by 0.6 to 0.75. Hang it with the centre at eye level, around 150cm from the floor.
For lighting, a simple rule used by top designers: add your room's length and width in metres, multiply by 2.5, and that gives you the ideal fixture width in centimetres.
Pendants over a dining table should hang 75-90cm above the table surface.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?
We do our best to ensure accurate colour representation, but slight variations can occur due to screen settings and lighting conditions. Our products are produced to match the listing images as closely as possible.
