The Solstice is a gold metal table lamp with a wide, low-brimmed shade that catches the light from every angle — the kind of lamp that reads as sculpture before it reads as light source. It belongs on a bedside table, a hotel nightstand, a shelf that needed one considered object to anchor it.
The shade is formed from stainless steel with a polished electroplated finish — the wide brim sits like a hat above a smooth, weighted dome base. The proportions are deliberate. The silhouette is unmistakable. In a room with clean lines and warm materials, the Solstice disappears into the interior and becomes part of it. In a room that needs a focal point, it becomes one.
It takes an E27 bulb — LED, Edison, smart, or dimmable — so the quality of the light is yours to set. The cord switch is on the lead. The voltage is universal at AC 85–265V, so it works in the UK, US, and AU without adapters or converters. Assembly takes under two minutes.

- Q: What bulb type and wattage does this lamp take, and is a bulb included? A: The Solstice uses an E27 socket and is rated for up to 18W. No bulb is included. We recommend a warm white LED bulb (2700K, E27, up to 18W) for the best match with the lamp's finish and colour temperature. Edison-style filament bulbs also work well aesthetically.
- Q: Does the metal shade get hot during use? A: With an LED bulb (recommended), the stainless steel shade remains cool to warm to the touch during normal use. LED bulbs generate significantly less heat than incandescent equivalents. If using a non-LED bulb, keep within the 18W maximum rating and allow the shade to cool fully before touching or cleaning.
- Q: Can I use a smart bulb or dimmable bulb in this lamp? A: Yes. The E27 socket is fully compatible with smart bulbs (e.g., Philips Hue, IKEA Tradfri) and standard dimmable LED bulbs. How do I know what size to choose?
Every product page lists exact dimensions for each option. For wall art, your piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space above your furniture — measure the width and multiply by 0.6 to 0.75. Hang it with the centre at eye level, around 150cm from the floor.
For lighting, a simple rule used by top designers: add your room's length and width in metres, multiply by 2.5, and that gives you the ideal fixture width in centimetres.
Pendants over a dining table should hang 75-90cm above the table surface.
