Some rooms earn their atmosphere. The AURO Jarl is one of the reasons why. A handblown-style glass globe in smoky grey or warm amber, suspended from a slender iron cord — it does not announce itself. It simply changes the quality of the light, and with it, the feeling of the room.
The Vael is designed for the spaces where you spend the most time. Above a dining table, it casts a warm, diffused glow that softens the edges of the evening. In a bedroom corner, it becomes the light you reach for at the end of the day — not bright, not clinical, just right. In a cluster of two or three at different heights, it creates the kind of layered, editorial look that takes a room from functional to considered.
The iron hardware is finished in matte black. The glass shade is available in smoky grey or amber — both tones that hold their warmth at 3000K, wrapping the room in light that feels intentional rather than incidental. Three sizes — 20cm, 25cm, and 30cm — mean you can mix and match, or choose one diameter and let it stand alone.

- Q: What bulb should I use, and will it show through the glass? A: The Vael uses a standard E27 socket. For the best effect with the smoky glass shade, use a warm white LED bulb at 2700K–3000K — a filament-style LED works particularly well, as the glass softens the glow without fully obscuring the bulb shape. Avoid cool white or daylight bulbs, which will read as blue-grey through the smoke-tinted glass.
- Q: Can I use this pendant on a dimmer switch? A: The Vael is not dimmable as supplied. If you want dimming capability, pair it with a dimmable E27 LED bulb and a compatible leading-edge dimmer switch — the bulb controls the dimming, not the fitting itself.
- Q: How do I adjust the cord length, and what ceiling heights does it suit? A: The pendant cord is adjustable at the ceiling canopy. For a dining table, a drop that positions the shade 70–80cm above the table surface is standard. For a bedside or accent position, a shorter drop of 30–40cm from the ceiling typically works well. The cord can be looped and secured inside the canopy during installation.
- Q: Can I hang multiple Vael pendants together as a cluster? A: Yes — the Vael is designed with clustering in mind. Mixing the 20cm, 25cm, and 30cm sizes at staggered heights creates a layered, editorial look. Each pendant requires its own ceiling rose and electrical connection, so a multi-pendant ceiling plate or individual roses are needed for a cluster installation.

How do I know what size to choose?
Every product page lists exact dimensions for each option. For wall art, your piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space above your furniture — measure the width and multiply by 0.6 to 0.75. Hang it with the centre at eye level, around 150cm from the floor.
For lighting, a simple rule used by top designers: add your room's length and width in metres, multiply by 2.5, and that gives you the ideal fixture width in centimetres.
Pendants over a dining table should hang 75-90cm above the table surface.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?
We do our best to ensure accurate colour representation, but slight variations can occur due to screen settings and lighting conditions. Our products are produced to match the listing images as closely as possible.
