There is a particular quality to light that passes through fabric. It does not land on surfaces so much as settle onto them — soft, diffuse, without edges. The AURO Vev is built around that quality.
The Vev is a wabi-sabi fabric chandelier with a 40cm woven shade in a warm cream-off-white tone. The shade wraps around a central frame in a layered, hand-finished construction that gives each piece a texture no two are exactly alike. Suspended from a matte black ceiling canopy on an adjustable cord, it hangs as a considered object — not just a light source, but a reason to look up.
The light it produces is warm and enveloping. An E27 LED bulb (not included) sits inside the shade and its glow is absorbed, softened, and redistributed by the woven fibres. The result is a room that feels quieter than it did before. Dining rooms become slower. Living rooms become easier to stay in. Bedrooms become the kind of place you actually want to be.
At 40cm, the Vev works above a dining table for two, over a reading corner, or as a centrepiece in a smaller room. The cord length is adjustable during installation, giving you control over how the fixture sits in the space. The matte black canopy and hardware are understated — they disappear against a ceiling so the shade can do the work.

- Dust the fabric shade regularly using a soft brush attachment on a vacuum cleaner set to the lowest suction setting. Work from top to bottom in gentle strokes.
- For light surface marks, use a barely damp cloth and blot gently — do not rub or saturate the fabric.
- Do not use liquid cleaners, solvents, or bleach on the shade.
- Wipe the iron frame and matte black canopy with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive materials that may scratch the finish.
- Always switch off and allow the bulb to cool fully before cleaning or adjusting the fixture.
- Indoor use only. Not suitable for humid or wet environments.

- Q: Does the fabric shade get hot — is there a fire risk? A: No. When used with an LED bulb at the recommended wattage (8–12W), the shade remains cool to the touch. The Vev is rated for up to 60W, but we strongly recommend LED bulbs both for safety and to preserve the fabric over time. Avoid incandescent or halogen bulbs.
- Q: Is this hardwired or does it come with a plug? A: The Vev is a hardwired ceiling pendant — it connects directly to your ceiling wiring via the ceiling canopy. There is no plug or trailing cord. If you are not confident working with ceiling electrics, we recommend using a qualified electrician for installation.
- Q: What bulb does it take, and is one included? A: The Vev takes an E27 screw-fit bulb (maximum 60W). A bulb is not included. We recommend a warm white LED at 2700K, 8–12W — this produces the warm, ambient glow the shade is designed to work with.
- Q: Can I adjust the cord length? A: Yes. The cord length is adjusted during installation by feeding more or less cord through the canopy before securing. This allows you to set the drop to suit your ceiling height and the space below.
- Q: Is the shade fragile? How does it hold up over time? A: The woven fabric construction is more durable than it looks. The iron frame holds the shape firmly, and the fabric is not prone to tearing under normal conditions. Avoid direct contact with water and keep it away from open flames or heat sources. With regular dusting, the shade will hold its appearance for years.

How do I know what size to choose?
Every product page lists exact dimensions for each option. For wall art, your piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space above your furniture — measure the width and multiply by 0.6 to 0.75. Hang it with the centre at eye level, around 150cm from the floor.
For lighting, a simple rule used by top designers: add your room's length and width in metres, multiply by 2.5, and that gives you the ideal fixture width in centimetres.
Pendants over a dining table should hang 75-90cm above the table surface.

Will the colours match what I see on screen?
We do our best to ensure accurate colour representation, but slight variations can occur due to screen settings and lighting conditions. Our products are produced to match the listing images as closely as possible.
