The AURO Veld is a considered choice for that moment — a clean aluminium sconce that sends light upward and downward in equal measure, casting two soft columns against the wall and leaving the space between them in a quiet, deliberate shadow.
There are no cables to run, no electrician to call. The solar panel charges through the day and the light activates at dusk, automatically, every evening. A PIR motion sensor adjusts the output when movement is detected — brighter for a moment, then settling back. Three modes let you choose how it behaves: motion-only, a low ambient glow that brightens on approach, or constant-on through the night.
The body is aluminium with a matte black finish — the kind of surface that reads as intentional rather than industrial. - Q: Can I keep it on all night rather than just when motion is detected?
A: Yes. The AURO Veld has three selectable modes: motion-only (activates only when movement is detected), ambient-plus-motion (a low constant glow that brightens on detection), and constant-on (full brightness all night until the battery depletes). Mode is selected at installation via a small switch on the unit. - Q: Will it charge if it's mounted on a north-facing or shaded wall?
A: The solar panel requires a minimum of 4–6 hours of daylight exposure — direct sun is ideal but indirect ambient light will charge the battery at a reduced rate. North-facing walls with no direct sun at any point in the day will result in shorter run times. For consistently shaded locations, we recommend choosing a hardwired alternative. - Q: Does the motion sensor activate during the day?
A: No. The built-in light sensor keeps the lamp off during daylight hours regardless of motion. The PIR sensor only becomes active after the ambient light level drops below the dusk threshold — so passing traffic, animals, or movement during the day will not trigger it. - Q: How far away does it detect movement?
A: The PIR sensor has a detection range of approximately 3–5 metres and a 120° horizontal detection angle. Sensitivity is fixed — it cannot be adjusted after installation.

How do I know what size to choose?
Every product page lists exact dimensions for each option. For wall art, your piece should fill roughly two-thirds of the wall space above your furniture — measure the width and multiply by 0.6 to 0.75. Hang it with the centre at eye level, around 150cm from the floor.
For lighting, a simple rule used by top designers: add your room's length and width in metres, multiply by 2.5, and that gives you the ideal fixture width in centimetres.
Pendants over a dining table should hang 75-90cm above the table surface.
